Social Snaps: April Redux

April was a fantastic month. Come to think of it, March wasn’t too bad either. During those two months, we gained 2 new clients (more on that to come, we’re heads down planning at the moment), worked some amazing client events bringing the intersection of social + digital + events to life in a way that rocked. We lost our voices at Ultra Music Festival. We fell asleep at our desks the day we got home from SXSW. We joined a client for a beautiful (and buzz worthy) restaurant opening. And we fell back in love with the feeling of seeing solid work payoff.

Loved this Twitter campaign from our friends at HBO. It was quick (2/14 only), fun (pairing up any of your two favorite HBO characters from any show on a date?), on-brand (out-of-the-box is really HBO marketing isn’t it?)….all the characteristics a solid social content tactic needs to have. Warming Up w/ Social Cocktails

A blizzard is quickly forming outside of our office windows, which is providing a perfect opportunity for us to dive into the Pinterest boards of client BULLDOG Gin and dig out some delicious cocktail faves.

When cabin fever sets in over the weekend, one of these is going to make a fabulous accompaniment to DVR marathons. We highly recommend it.

White Chocolate Martini
1oz (30ml) BULLDOG Gin
1oz (30ml) White Chocolate Liqueur
Finely Shaved Dark Chocolate
Pour BULLDOG Gin and White Chocolate Liqueur into a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously. Pour into a martini glass and sprinkle dark chocolate shavings on top.

Client Love: Healthy Cocktails

Sounds like an oxymoron right? But seriously…while you’re springing into the New Year with tons of resolutions, a recommitment to the gym and all of those other hopeful resolutions, we recommend diving into some defiantly and definitely delicious cocktails from our clients (and friends) at BULLDOG Gin. They are seriously amazing. You can find them weekly on BULLDOG’s Facebook or over on their Pinterest (so many amazing cocktail recipes here!) Yum!

BULLDOG GIN’s DOUBLE MINT

  • 2 oz. BULLDOG Gin
  • 1/2 oz. Splenda Simple Syrup
  • 2 Sprigs of Mint
  • Splash Dry Vermouth
  • Prosecco or Dry Champagne

CALORIES: 153

In a mixing glass, combine all ingredients. Shake and strain into a martini glass. Top with Prosecco or dry champagne and garnish with a mint leaf.

Although the Furby phenomenon still kind of terrifies us (they just won’t ever turn off!), their content strategy on Facebook is pure genius. Placing the Furby into timely, contextual situations with short, pithy and creative copy…brilliant.

It appears as though the Furby marketing team is following the social media content strategy that we often recommend to clients:

  • Keep the community management in-house (you need it managed by a team who is completely engrossed in the brand)
  • Invest in compelling imagery
  • Tailor the content specifically for each channel 
  • Think about distribution and ensure your content is crafted accordingly
  • Encourage consumer interaction and engagement 
  • Clearly identify and then continuously optimize your brand voice
  • Post with purpose – each piece of content should have a clear objective and should align with the overall strategic objectives

Simple recipe but works every single time.
