Weekend mornings are best spent with brunch, a bit of booze, the New York Times and a catch-up on guilty reads and RSS feeds. Here are a few of our favorites from the social and marketing sphere from the previous few days…
What is inspiring you today?
We’re finally recovered (mostly) from music festival season mania (Ultra. Coachella. SXSW. Was it in that order?) and having some time to dig through RSS Feeds.
Here are some recent favorites:
Browsing around our RSS feeds and the broader interwebs (don’t you love how you just start clicking and clicking and clicking…) and stumbled upon these solid social reads:
We don’t condone spiking your morning cup of joe, but this Business Week read on the research study done at University of Illinois Chicago where college students were fed vodka cranberry while watching the animated film Ratatouille (we love that one and the Thomas Keller-ness of it all) and then asked with a BAC of .07 to solve math problems.
Yes, this was a real research study, apparently. And while we prefer gin to vodka and to keep our mornings alcohol free save for the brunch mimosa or the bloody mary bar at Saxon & Parole, we can’t help but find this all, well, amazing. Full read here.
Some current worth-the-read social stories from our RSS feed:
For many of our clients, Sunday PM tends to be the time when the email box is cleared out, the desktop organized for Monday and the RSS feed finally cleared. Same situation over here.
Here are some great social & marketing reads from our RSS feed that we highly recommend:
It’s been a bit hectic lately. For any of you who read through RSS, we’re sure you feel our pain when you’re a few days behind. We’ve emptied ours post SXSW and we hope you’ve done the same. If not (and perhaps if so) here is our list of top must reads:
We often wish that we could dig into the browser history and RSS feeds of some of our favorite intellectual thought leaders such as Fred Wilson, Junot Diaz, Jonathan Franzen, Seth Godin, Malcolm Gladwell….sigh.
We like to imagine what they might be reading and although this list surely isn’t it, here are some of the top hits on our RSS this AM:
And lastly, some quotable inspiration (despite what you might think of Rand, rings true):
A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others. -Ayn Rand
